About the event

Five days of adventure

The program is allows practitioners to experience adventure therapy as a participant. As a residential program, you will be immersed in adventure and complex trauma-informed practice theory.

The theory components cover the entire ten sessions of the 2 day training, with some held in the evenings. You will cook, camp and adventure with a small team while being introduced to a range of adventure activities. While lots of fun, it is to help you understand how each activity can heal complex trauma, and how it might not

This is not for your therapy, although you might be surprised by realisatioins as you progress. There are many breaks as we transition between activities and locations, and the pace is inteneded to enable enjoyment and self care.

The program is intended as youth work rather than clinical exploration of traumatic memory. Group adventures are not really the appropriate setting for that work. This approach is about doing, being and healing, but not talking about adverse experiences. The therapy is physiological, relational, experiential and dignifying.

Our training breathes life into the latest complex trauma theories, based on eight years of Australian research. The groundbreaking theory and practice framework provide invaluable guidance for connecting with complex youth.

In recognising the inherent chaos of the work, we offer straightforward, dependable, and proven concepts adaptable to any profession and workplace.

This framework has been extensively tested in diverse settings, from youth detention to mainstream and alternative education, including services for young people with autism. Its success lies in its intra-disciplinary approach, easily customisable to fit your practice.

Prepare to challenge assumptions as we guide you through a transformative experience. Participants leave with newfound confidence, ready to implement positive changes in their practices.

Our framework's credibility is underscored by its presentation at national and international conferences, and is validated by Australian research. The research aim was to keep concepts accessible, offering a practical and targeted approach applicable across various disciplinary practices.

Over 1000 professionals have been already trained on the Beta version, now updated and finalised.  Some education centres, youth services and NDIS practices have adopted this as a whole of service pedagogy.

Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your skills and make a lasting impact on challenging young individuals. Register now for the 'Complex Trauma Informed Practice' training and elevate your professional journey.
